How many women volunteered for war?
During WW1 it is said that around 2139 women served abroad as nurses. Some locations where they volunteered were Egypt and Lemnos during the Gallipoli campaign, England, France and Belgium in support of allies and also in Greece Salonika, Palestine, Mesopotamia and India. Also around 423 women worked in Australia in Military Hospitals.
